Environmental Impact

The WPA has consciously reduced the environmental impact of this event by working in partnership with an event company and venue that also recognises the importance of sustainable practices.

Grosvenor House Hotel (part of the Marriott Group) has a goal to reduce its environmental footprint by up to 50% across its portfolio by 2025.  The menu today is sourced from responsible local UK suppliers including English sparkling wine from Nyetimber. The hotel has energy efficient lighting throughout, and water and waste reduction practices in place.  All cooking oil for instance is recycled and turned into Biofuel.

In addition, WPA has decided to use reusable LED cordless battery lamps as table centres. The small number of flowers used will be donated to Floral Angels following the event for repurposing to hospices, hospitals and the like.   A digital event brochure minimises our use of paper and a recycled production set is being utilised to avoid unnecessary waste.
